While the cutthroat was battling lysander in the catacombs of Areimanios Zurbaran, overwhelmed by being left without a purpose, tried to sell him as a slave but the cutthroat was able to avert that. Tekate accompanied the cutthroat throughout their adventures and together they uncovered the dark plot of the cult of The Nameless One. Afterwards he and the other vanquishers of the nine hordes freed the "prize" Aurelia and continued their pursuit of Lysander. He fought alongside his newfound friends in Mengbilla and made it to the final round of the nine hordes but just like the others he was shocked and enraged at Niam's death (although he hid it much better) and after the battle helped them kill diego monterey, who was to blame for giving the half-elf Dreamweed right before the battle. While there they met and befriended tekate but he was welcomed among them only after the final test in which he was defeated but spared. Involvement Blackguards Deadly Test īefore the cutthroat and their companions were sent to battle against the nine hordes their slavers, Diego and Helia Monterey, sent them to the arena in El'Halem. Eight years before the events of Blackguards 1 he was captured by the slaver Kolman and sold to the gladiator schools of Mengbilla. Battle and bloodshed have been his only purpose in life, and he has earned a reputation for playing with his victims like a wild cat before making his cold-blooded kill. Though he speaks the Common Tongue well enough, it would be a mistake to think him civilized because of it: Takate learned his manners as a slave in the gladiator schools. Despite his origins among the forest people of the Rain Mountains, Takate has little left in common with his brothers.
